CIC biomaGUNE, a non-profit research center located in San Sebastian (Spain) invites applications for the position of Animal Facility Manager. The dedicated small animal facility, sandwiched between the Magnetic Resonance Imaging and the Nuclear Imaging (PET-CT, SPECT-CT) areas, constitutes four housing rooms as an independent rodent resource of the Molecular Imaging Unit, whose strategic goals are (i) to develop ground breaking research projects in the fields of radiochemistry, PET-CT, SPECT-CT and MRI; (ii) to foster collaborations with national and international research groups and (iii) to establish a training program in the different areas of expertise in strong collaboration with different universities, research centers and hospitals

A two year post doctoral position to work in the emerging field of nanosafety is offered within the EU FP7 project HINAMOX. The candidate must have a PhD in Chemistry, Materials Science, Biochemistry, Biophysics, or other related fields. Experience in the characterization/synthesis of nanoparticles is preferred, but also a more biology oriented expertise will be considered. The appointed candidate will be working within an international team of scientists including groups from several European countries, China and Mexico. The goal of the project is the evaluation of the possible toxicity of metal and metal oxide nanoparticles. Special emphasis is given within the project to the understanding of the relations between the properties of materials and their toxicological end points. A post doctoral position in the field of nanomedicine is being offered within the Marie Curie Project DesiRNA, starting January 2011 for 1.5 years. The candidate must have a PhD in Chemistry, Materials Science, Biochemistry, Biophysics, or other related fields. Candidates with experience in RNA therapies, molecular biology, encapsulation techniques, and fluorescence microscopy are preferred, but other related expertise will be considered positively. The candidate will be working within an international team of scientists and in close collaboration with an industrial partner in Germany. The goal of the project is the development of carriers for RNA and antibiotics for the treatment of ocular diseases. A good level of written and spoken English is required.
