Nico studied biochemistry at the Ruprecht-Karls-University in Heidelberg (Germany). In his PhD project, started in December 2008, Nico is investigating the properties of supramolecular assemblies involved in nucleo-cytoplasmic transport.

This project is pursued collaboration with the group of Prof. Dirk Görlich (Göttingen, Germany). Since spring 2010, Nico is holding an Excellence Stipend by the Göttingen Graduate School for Neurosciences and Molecular Biosciences (GGNB).
