CIC biomaGUNE is a non-profit research organization created to promote scientific research and technological innovation at the highest levels in the Basque Country following the BIOBASQUE policy in order to create a new business sector based on biosciences.
The NMR Platform of CIC biomaGUNE, in collaboration with the laboratory of Iraida Loinaz, CIDETEC, has recently reported on the synthesis and characterization of single chain poly(N-isopropylacrylamide) (pNIPAM) nanoparticles below 10nm.
pNIPAM is a thermoresponsive polymer of great interest for biomedical applications. The method consists of the synthesis of pNIPAM based terpolymers containing alkyne and azide functional groups by RAFT polymerization.
